Macross Zero 01-03

Yes, its old. It came out back in 2004, but meh, ive just now gotten around to watching it. Truth is, im not really a fan of Macross stuff, its never been something i liked. But Macross Zero isnt really like the rest of the Macross series’, and its much shorter as well. Theres a deeper story, better characters, waaay better art, and just overall i really enjoyed watching it in general. Actually im not DONE watching it, because apparently its five episodes….and the person who told me they had it all only has the first three. BLARGH.
Anyway, i cant take screenshots so i ‘borrowed’ some from around the internet. If i could, they’d all be of Mao anyway so maybe its a good thing i cant. Otherwise they woudlnt show anything but the same girl, lol. Obviously, Mao is my favorite character in this OVA, she’s adorable. But all the characters are really well made, and you cant really HATE any of them, even the extras seem realistic.

So, the story, you can look on ANN for a summary of it. I’d love to tell you, but watching something translated from JAPANESE to ENGLISH in CHINA is pretty damn hard sometimes, seeing as how the chinese arnt fluent in either. Its like using Babelfish for English to japanese, then doing the thing it gave you in japanese back to english, and it wont come up as the same thing you had put to begin with. But for the most part, its understandable, except the random spurts of just plain stupid shit. Like “Hai!” and they put “hello” as the sub, it made me giggle. Especially how randomly it would be, they literally changed what it meant EVERYTIME its said. During a dogfight someone would be like “HE’S GOT A LOCK ON YOU, EVADE!” and the guy would be like “HELLO!” or “you guys should get out of here” “welcome!” UHHHHH.

Basically, Mao is super adorable, and so im just watching the show to get to see more of her. Annoyingly enough, episode 3 ends with her all screwed up and shit and getting a blood transfusion (is that it?) from this big alien vagina looking thing so that she will survive….But noone knows if it will work or not, and its all dramatic like…And the episode ends with that going on, plus the main character and his Ho getting caught by one of the enemy pilots. Zomegs! So im stuck, in a bad place.

Oh and Mao is the purple haired girl in a ‘few’ screenshots. Actually, she’s in all three in the middle, and on the last set she’s in the bottom right one.
